Shaun P – Biography   Growing up in the coastal city of Durban, South Africa, Shaun P developed a passion for piano at the tender age of 11. Supported by his loving mother, Shaun P added singing to his list of talents that he spent his early years crafting. As a teenager he realised that a career in music was what he dreamed of, to be a part of culture of worship around the globe.

In the early 90?s Shaun P enrolled at UNISA and successfully studied classical piano. With a history of early success, Shaun P’s first recording with the group „Not Just To People?, garnered him a SAMA nomination for best „Urban Gospel? in 2006.

Integrity Media Africa, the country?s largest Gospel music distributor, took note of his extraordinary musical and song writing ability and offered Shaun P a distribution deal for his latest release. “Shaun has an awesome God-given talent for creating praise and worship songs. Many people are going to be very surprised by the quality of this album!” says Nurden Cross, MD of Integrity Media Africa. The company has presented Shaun P’s second solo album Every Day Of My Life into retail stores and church music shops countrywide. This album contains songs that churches countrywide are enjoying already. The title track „Everyday of my life? inspired a music video, which has been aired on local TV screens as well as on YouTube.

Describing his music as „Contemporary Live? the inspirational songs found on his latest delivery are carefully crafted out of Shaun P’s real life experiences as well as from profound sermons. Various preachers and friends also influence his writing.  Inspired by gospel music greats like Israel Houghton, Kirk Franklin and Fred Hammond, Shaun P’s passionate heart lies with the genre of Praise and Worship. Integrity Media Africa represents his musical icons locally, and may see his dream of sharing a stage with one of them come true in the future.

Working with the best in the music industry,  Shaun P  has attained professional standards and experienced an international level of music. Completely immersed in music, Shaun P  runs his own Grade A recording studio, where he composes, produces and arranges musical projects. He hosts worship conferences and workshops, where he aids the development of worship bands.

Now 33 years old, he has performed to thousands of people over the continent and worked with award winning artist Ernie Smith. A pinnacle performance was when Shaun P led worship to 45 000 people that gathered in Gaborone Stadium in Botswana for a crusade, and 10 000 people in Lagos, Nigeria. Shaun was also the first person to lead thousands of people in worship at the brand new Moses Mabida Stadium at the Global Prayer Day event in 2010. Investing the majority of his time in the church, Shaun P is incredibly humbled by his experiences thus far. “I am blessed to lead worship in my local church where 3000 people gather every Sunday. I always want to remain teachable and learn from those who have gone before me. I am where I am supposed to be right now, and I intend to get better”, says Shaun P.

Shaun says that his family is the most important thing in his life, “My wife Natasha is the backbone in my ministry and sharpens me all the time. We are grounded in the Lord and work as a team. My boy TK is my pride and joy and keeps me fresh and gives me all the more reason to press through trying times.”

With a long term goal of releasing 10 albums, Shaun P wants his songs to be a worship experience whereby it changes the individual first, then impacts the people around them, whether at home, the street or at church.
